Description:

Planet of the Whales was a radio play by the Lux Radio Players performed in the Grand Luxe Hall and offsite at the Jericho Beach Hangars. Mounted on the occasion of Greenpeace’s “Save the Whales” conservation campaign, this play presented a satirical narrative that envisioned a world 2000 years in the future where whales thrived and humans were considered an endangered species.

The cast included Warry Knechtel as the narrator, Hugh Mann as Orson Whales, Robert Amos as Lew, Robert Amussen as Cummings, Patrick Ready as Pat Purpose, Suzanne Ksinan as Doctor Sperm, Kate Craig as Narr, Judith Doyle as Blue, Martha Miller as Whale Army, and others; with music by Hank Bull.
