As part of the Women in View festival, Western Front presented an evening of music, dance, and performance by Cliq—the collaboration of Katherine Duncanson, Shannon Peet, and Holly Small. The group takes its name from Click, a rhythmically choreographed work for three claves by composer Mary-Ellen Childs. Conceived as a piece that deliberately falls between the cracks of music and movement, Click explores the territory between disciplines, blurring the boundaries between sound and choreography. Reprised throughout the evening, interludes from Click framed a series of solo dance works, and a bassoon solo by Peet.
Presented in partnership with Vancouver East Cultural Centre (now The Cultch), Station Street Arts Centre, WISE Hall, and the Firehall Arts Centre; with support from Canada Council.
