Description:

A virtual listening party that celebrated the launch of the album Radio III / ᎦᏬᏂᏍᎩ ᏦᎢ by Elisa Harkins. The event included a talk with Harkins and her collaborators Hanako Hoshimi-Caines and Zoë Poluch that concluded with a question and answer period.

The Radio III / ᎦᏬᏂᏍᎩ ᏦᎢ  double LP includes nine songs composed by Harkins in English, Cherokee, and Muscogee (Creek), as well as extensive photo documentation from live performances. The collaboration combines disco and Indigenous languages in an effort to alter the endangered status of these languages through active use, preservation on pressed vinyl, and radio play.

The album was produced by the artists, Western Front, and Portland Institute of Contemporary Art/Time Based Arts Festival with support from the Tulsa Artist Fellowship.

Western Front is a non-profit
artist-run centre in Vancouver.
