Description:

The DJ Who Gave Too Much Information was a performance by PME-ART that explored the ways in which music organizes our memories, beliefs, relations, perceptions, and way of being in the world. Centred around a turntable and a collection of vinyl records, performers Claudia Fancello, Caroline Dubois, and Jacob Wren shuffled through songs while sharing stories associated with each album. Ranging from comedic narratives to touching anecdotes, the stories that were presented came from hearsay, internet research, books, magazines, friends, and the performers’ personal lives. Audience members were invited to listen, have a drink at the bar, and enter and leave as they pleased.

The DJ Who Gave Too Much Information was created by Caroline Dubois, Claudia Fancello, and Jacob Wren, and produced by PME-ART and FFT Düsseldorf.

Presented in collaboration with Studio 303 and Noorderzon Festival, and in partnership with PuSH International Performing Arts Festival; with support by onseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Conseil des arts de Montréal, and Kunststiftung NRW.
