Description:
On World Listening Day, members of the Vancouver Soundwalk Collective led a soundwalk to honour the life and legacy of the American composer and inventor of Deep Listening, Pauline Oliveros. With introductions by Jorma Kujala and Hildegard Westercamp, the hour-long walk through Mount Pleasant began at Western Front and concluded at Guelph Park. The event reflected on the theme of listening to the ground while exploring local, national, and global soundscapes.
The program was accompanied by an essay by Jorma Kujala.
Presented with support from SOCAN Foundation and the Government of Canada.
Video documentation of this event is available upon request.
