David Clark in Residence

Description:

Western Front hosted media artist and filmmaker David Clark to develop a non-linear digital opera for the internet. Imagined as an online project, non-sequential aspects of the internet were placed in juxtaposition with the conventions and structural forms of musical composition.  

Clark worked with Vancouver composer Jeff Toyn to begin to integrate the musical composition with the interactive experience design and aesthetic of the work. This interdisciplinary combination would create a layered digital collage that reveals intersecting stories and sounds when experienced online. 

Clark also presented an artist talk on May 22, 2008 to conclude his residency.
