8:00 p.m.

An evening with poet bill bissett, hosted by writer and curator Carl Peters on the occasion of the exhibition textual vishyuns: image and text in the work of bill bissett at the Reach Art Gallery and Museum, Abbotsford.

A reading by bissett was followed by a screening of his short film Embrace (2012) made in collaboration with Honey Novick and Jordan Stone. After a short intermission, bissett was joined on stage for a conversation with Peters and former Talonbooks publisher Karl Siegler, who spoke about his forty-year editorial relationship with bissett. Writer and educator Jerry Zaslove was also scheduled to join the panel but could not attend due to unforeseen circumstances.

Presented in partnership with the Reach Art Gallery and Museum.

Video documentation is available upon request.
