Description:

Presented as part of the Memory Festival at the Roundhouse Community Centre, The Coincidence Problem (2013) was a performance and installation by Cassia Streb that re-interprets Stephen Osborne’s titular short story into a multi-layered audio composition.

Audience members were invited to stream a recording of Osborne reading his text on their personal mobile devices while DB Boyko led a choir in a live performance of a composition by Streb. The thirty-minute work presented a self-guided experience that invited audience members to move throughout the exhibition hall, creating musical coincidences as they wandered into different areas of the space.

Presented in partnership with Geist Magazine and the Roundhouse Community Centre.
