Description:
As part of VOICE OVER mind Festival, Western Front presented two performances of Stitch—an opera for three women and three sewing machines. Anchored in the sounds and rhythms of sewing, Stitch explores the sewing machine as a force for exploitation and liberation since its invention in the nineteenth century. The piece was composed by Juliet Palmer and Anna Chatterton, and performed by Christine Duncan, Patricia O’Callaghan, and Neema Bickersteth.
Presented in partnership with Vancouver New Music.
