Description:

Piazza Virtuale was an interactive television broadcast by Van Gogh TV presented at documenta IX in Kassel, Germany. Over the course of 100 days, the project invited the public to broadcast themselves via videophones from micro-studios installed in cities across Germany, Europe, and Japan. By enabling real-time connections between remote participants, Piazza Virtuale collapsed the distinction between broadcaster and viewer, allowing audiences to occupy both roles simultaneously.

Western Front is a non-profit artist-run centre in Vancouver.

We acknowledge the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations as traditional owners of the land upon which Western Front stands.
