In Lurch, Kelly Wood presented two new bodies of work: five large photomurals displayed in Western Front’s gallery, and eight smaller black-and-white photographic works presented in an accompanying catalogue.
Lifting images of the human form from 1930s psychical culture books and placing them in witty arrangements, Wood’s photo collages critiqued the archetypal posturing of the human form in the representation of gender difference, social inequity, and displaced human emotion.
The exhibition catalogue featured texts by Laura Lamb and Nancy Shaw.
