Description:

This live telecommunications event linked Hank Bull at Western Front to Maria Vedder at the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, Germany, and Douglas Davis in Moscow, Russia. The slowscan exchange used two telephone lines: one to carry images and the other to carry sound.

On this same occasion, the Canadian Ambassador to West Germany presented a gift of five Canadian videotapes to the Ludwig Museum: Kate Craig, Ma (1986), Joe Sarahan, Holy Joe (1987), Lisa Steele and Kim Tomzak, Working the Double Shift (1984), Hank Bull and Eric Metcalfe, Sax Island (1984), and Jan Peacock, Wallace and Theresa (1985).

Presented with support from the Canadian Department of External Affairs.

Western Front is a non-profit artist-run centre in Vancouver.
