Description:

The For Continuous Use League was formed in 1971 by Bill Bartlett, Jim Corte, and Bill Porteous. The artists established an exchange network between Victoria, Canada, and Los Angeles, United States to share sustainable, continuous use methodologies in contrast to widespread attitudes of disposability—in the treatment of commodities and the environment. For over one year, the artists exchanged small objects and art through the mail.

The exhibition was featured work by collective members Bill Bartlett, Peggy Cady, Jim Corte, and Tom Gore that reflected the group’s concern for image regeneration and transformation through transportation, communication, and transmutation. The exhibition was presented as part of an exchange program with Open Space, Victoria that ran from February 12 to March 5.

Curated by Michael Morris.
