Description:

Trans is a single-channel video by Shawn Chappelle developed while in residence at Western Front. Using airplanes as a visual and sonic motif, the work presents an entropic montage of hypersaturated digital images and flashing text. The frenetic visual rhythm is heightened through a soundtrack by Chappelle and Craig Easton, which layers modulated recordings of airplane takeoff into a fuzzy, abstracted soundscape.
