Description:
The Berkeley Gamelan Ensemble performed contemporary compositions by Daniel Schmidt that reflected influences drawn from Javanese, Balinese, South Indian, and African musical traditions. The musicians were accompanied by Nancy Karp Dancers, with company members Evangel King, George Mills, Elizabeth Stanel, and Pam Wunderlich. The dancers presented three choreographic works based on Javanese scores.
