Scrivener’s Monthly: Raymond Boisjoly Listening to Fugazi’s “In On The Kill Taker”

Mar 30, 2017
Field:

Talk

Location:

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

Time:

7:00 p.m.

Description:

Presented as part of Scrivener’s Monthly, Raymond Boisjoly demonstrated the idea of “discrepant” reading using In On The Kill Taker, the 1993 album by Washington, DC post-hardcore band Fugazi as an overlay in considering the relevance of its lyrical content to ideas of post-1992 Indigenous contemporary art.

Scrivener’s Monthly was a series of public presentations that explored the space between material practices and spoken words. Set alongside exhibitions at Western Front, this experiment in “not publishing” involved readings, performances, and other articulations.

Video documentation of this event is available upon request.

On black lettering written on top of a yellow bright background the sign displays information about the upcoming Scrivener’s Monthly at Western Front, featuring Raymond Boisjoly.
