Description:

Gordon Grdina (oud/guitar) showcased his ensemble featuring New York based collaborators Russ Lossing (piano), Oscar Noreiga (alto saxophone/clarinet), and Satoshi Takeishi (drums) for a concert in the Grand Luxe Hall presented as part of the Bright Moments series. Rooted in the traditions of jazz improvisation, the quartet’s performance drew inspiration from the work of Béla  Bartók, Ornette Coleman, Soundgarden, and Anton Webern.

Presented in partnership with Coastal Jazz & Blues Society, and with support from the Government of Canada and SOCAN Foundation.
