88 Tuned Bongos: Ground/Terre

Apr 1, 2016

Concert, Performance

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

8:00 p.m.

Presented as part of 88 Tuned Bongos, Xenia Pestova Bennett and Shawn Mativetsky performed a ninety-minute set in the Grand Luxe Hall. Their performance included a structured improvisation on piano, toy piano, Indian harmonium, and tabla that blended Western and Indian classical music; as well as the presentation of damask (2016), their collaborative composition inspired by the history of textiles.

88 Tuned Bongos was a series that explored experimental music for piano.
