Description:

Western Front hosted a performance by pianist Rachel Iwaasa to celebrate the launch of her debut solo piano CD, Cosmophony (2010). Released on Redshift Records, the album is inspired by the beauty and majesty of the cosmos. Cosmophony also features world premiere recordings of works by Rodney Sharman, Marci Rabe, Alexander Pechenyuk, Jocelyn Morlock, Jordan Nobles, Chris Kovarik, Jeffrey Ryan, Stefan Udell, Jennifer Butler, and Emily Doolittle; as well as George Crumb’s monumental Makrokosmos Volume II (1973).
