Description:
This twenty-minute, single-channel video by Paul Wong follows a group of beautiful rich young adults as they “work out, make out, frolic in the sun, and dance until dawn.” Themes of lifestyle, fashion, class, technology, and sexuality are depicted with an apolitical and distanced point of view, offering a stark contrast to Wong’s 1981 video work 4.
Prime Cuts debuted in the Grand Luxe Hall on Oct 2, 1981. The screening featured a live performance by e, who composed the film’s score.
