Description:
This twenty-minute, single-channel video by Paul Wong follows a group of beautiful rich young adults as they live their best lives—partying, exercising, tanning, and canoodling. Themes of lifestyle, fashion, class, technology, and sexuality are depicted with an apolitical and distanced point of view, offering a stark contrast to Wong’s 1981 video work 4.
Prime Cuts debuted in the Grand Luxe Hall on Oct 2, 1981. The screening featured a live performance by e, who composed the film’s score.
