Description:
Ad Hoc / Ensemble was a one-time tour of six musicians from across Canada that performed concerts in five different cities and billed itself as “a nomadic ensemble of improvisation and open composition.” Musical presenters assembled the group by selecting musicians from their respective city to come together to work and perform for the first time.
The performance featured Guillaume Bourque (clarinet) and Jean-Félix Mailloux (bass) from Montréal, Christine Duncan (drums) from Toronto, Daniel Oore (saxophone and DIY didgeridoo) from Halifax, and Jesse Zubot (violin) from Vancouver.
Presented in partnership with The Music Gallery, La Chappelle, Open Space, and Upstream Music.
Western Front is a non-profit
artist-run centre in Vancouver.
We acknowledge the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations as traditional owners of the land upon which Western Front stands.
