Description:
While in residence at Western Front, Italian artists Francesca Mizzoni (a.k.a FM) and Roberto Paci Dalo (a.k.a WITZ) worked on the Vancouver component of their multi-site work, WITZ FM and contributed to the Reverie project during Art’s Birthday.
Building on their collection of field recordings in Italy and abroad, the artists collected sounds and images from liminal areas in Vancouver where the city met nature; at the borderline between inside/outside. They were inspired by the novel City of Glass (1985) by Paul Auster, and the graphic novel by David Mazzucchelli and Paul Karasik after the original text.
This residency was supported by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, in Vancouver.
Western Front is a non-profit
artist-run centre in Vancouver.
