Residency

Description:

Elizabeth Fischer developed her web-based curatorial project, Situ, during a two-part residency with other artists. During the first residency, she collaborated with Lora McElhinney and Tim McLaughlin.

They each worked on a new text-based web-work around the theme of loci and dialogue as expressed through the concepts of diary and autobiography. Issues of physical, emotional, and virtual loci were examined. Their works endeavoured to cross boundaries of discipline (i.e. writing, image, sound, software), language, personal experience, and experience with the medium itself (the internet and the web).

The works were launched online starting in Jan 2002.
