In and Out of the Studio

Andra McCartney hosted a public roundtable at Western Front as part of her research project, “In and Out of the Studio.” Women working with sound were invited to take part in the discussion. 

This project focused on the ideas and practices of contemporary Canadian soundmakers, aiming to address the relative invisibility and inaudibility of women, and thinking about ways in which sound technologies and practices are gendered.
