Talk by Lex Brown

In conjunction with the exhibition Broadcasts from Here, artist Lex Brown presented an artist talk discussing her practice, and her video work Communication (2021) that was featured in the exhibition. 

Brown began with a reading of her essay “Unbreaking,” that was written for her 2021 exhibition Defense Mechanisms at Deli Gallery, New York. Through her presentation of past works, the characterization of commerce and control in contrast with inner transformation and freedom emerged as a key theme in her practice. The talk concluded with a question and answer period.
