Raven Mad

Description:

While in residence at Western Front, Randy Gledhill and Berenicci Hershorn produced the single-channel video Raven Mad. The six-minute video includes a compilation of footage of natural scenes shot across the Pacific Northwest overlaid with animated sequences by Kye Goodwin depicting cedar boughs and raven feathers. The video features a soundtrack by Iain Macnaulty and Doug Gough and concludes with Al Neil narrating the epilogue from Bill Reid and Robert Bringhurst’s The Raven Steals the Light (1984), which recounts the Haida myth of the trickster figure Raven.
