Description:
While in residence at Western Front, artist and composer Samita Sinha developed a new work titled Tremor that premiered in the Grand Luxe Hall in 2023.
Working in collaboration with architect Sunil Bald, composer Ash Fure, and performer Okwui Okpokwasili, Sinha composed a vibrational, ventricular space from the raw material of micro sounds decomposed from Indian classical music.
Following the performance at Western Front, an iteration of Tremor was toured to Danspace Project, New York City and was presented with a spatial design Bald.
Presented with the support of the Government of Canada and the SOCAN Foundation, and with special thanks to Darrell Jones for his support as a thought partner to Sinha across the development of Tremor.
