Jan 10, 2026
Field:

Talk

Location:

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

Time:

5:00 – 5:30 p.m.

Description:

As part of the opening reception for Nina Davies’s solo exhibition Image Syncers, she was joined by designer, cyberethnographer, and artist Ruby Justice Thelot—the writer of the essay accompanying the exhibition—for a conversation. Together they discussed the exhibition’s engagement with AI-generated imagery, choreography, the dissolution of reality, and the appeal of fakeness.

Presented with support from the Canada Council for the Arts.

Ruby Justice Thelot, a dark-skinned individual dressed in black jeans, a black leather jacket, and a black fur top, sits with their legs crossed, microphone in hand, engaging with an audience member. Beside them, two glasses of white wine, a water glass, a carafe, an iPhone, and a piece of paper rest on a black table.
Nina Davies, a white woman wearing a multi-coloured mesh top and black pants, sits cross legged beside Ruby Justice Thelot. She speaks into a microphone, hand raised, with her eyes raised off to the left in thought.
Nina Davies and Ruby Justice Thelot sit opposite each other, engaging in conversation in front of a large audience. Behind them, a large screen shows TikTok videos of individuals imitating AI movements playing on a loop.
