Field:

Workshop

Location:

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

Time:

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Description:

Architect Barry McGinn led a workshop addressing wood frame building exterior restoration, using Western Front as a case study. The workshop provided historical context for early twentieth-century Vancouver residential architecture, as well as early construction systems and finishing schemes. It also focused on sensitive rehabilitation strategies for foundations, wood frames, exterior cladding, roofing, windows, doors, and finishes.
