Sitting on a pillow on the floor of the Grand Luxe Hall under a spotlight, Kathy Acker read the final chapter of her novel Kathy Goes to Haiti (1978), as well as a poem titled “Raw Heat,” which was dedicated to her roommate at the time. The reading was presented as part of the American Writers series.
