WESTERN FRONT – Ideology and Nature

Description:

In Fabio Mauri’s Ideology and Nature, a female performer wears a Young Italy fascist uniform and repeatedly disrobes and dresses. Her slow and methodical gestures are accompanied by an audiotape of music and propaganda recorded from the radio.

While in residence at Western Front, Mauri presented Ideology and Nature with Jeanette Reinhardt. She performed the work in the Grand Luxe Hall, and again for the camera.
