Robert Kroetsch

Bio:

Robert Kroetsch was a Canadian poet, novelist, and literary critic.  Born in Heisler, Alberta, his childhood was influenced by a farming background and a family tradition of oral storytelling, which informed his literary themes surrounding boundaries and the contrast between spoken and written language. His novels, poems, and criticism are recognized for their engagement with postmodernism and phenomenology. In 2004, Kroetsch was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.
