Steve Paxton

Bio:

Steve Paxton is a dancer based in Vermont, United States recognized for instigating Contact Improvisation. Paxton is also the founder of the dance groups Judson Dance Theatre, the Grand Union, and Touchdown Dance. He is the author of the publications Material for the Spine—a movement study (1986) and Gravity (2018).
