An evening with vocal instructor, director, and performer Richard Armstrong in which he read from his forthcoming book Voice Chronicles: An Anti-Text Book on the Human Voice. Reflecting on his forty-five year career studying and teaching voice, Armstrong drew upon personal references and anecdotes to discuss his unique approach to vocal training and his interest in the interrelationship between the voice and the psyche. Following his reading, Armstrong shared an eight-minute excerpt from Julie Sits Waiting (2011), an opera he performed at Theatre Passe Muraille, Toronto. The evening closed with a question and answer period with the audience.
Reading by Richard Armstrong, video documentation, Sep 4, 2013. 1 hr. 24 min. 46 sec. Camera by Ben Wilson.
