Reflecting on his forty-five year career studying and teaching voice, Armstrong drew upon personal references and anecdotes to discuss his unique approach to vocal training and his interest in the interrelationship between the voice and the psyche. Following his reading, Armstrong shared an eight-minute excerpt from Julie Sits Waiting (2011), an opera he performed at Theatre Passe Muraille, Toronto. The evening closed with a question and answer period with the audience.
