Description:
Western Front invited artists to perform as part of Under Exposure, a presentation of new music at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Cleia brought a fresh vibrancy to Canadian folk music with soulful acappella harmonies and innovative instrumental arrangements. The performers were Neil Hammond (vocal, mandolin, guitar, harmonica, bodhran); Andy Hillhouse (vocals, guitar); Karla Mundy (vocals, accordion); Keona Mundy (flute, vocals); and Norah Rendell (vocal, whistles).
The Adama Ensemble explored the boundaries of classical, contemporary, and world music with improvisation, sound, and silence. The performers were Itamar Erez (guitar), Denis Franck (percussion), and Danny Parker (bass).
Western Front is a non-profit artist-run centre in Vancouver.
We acknowledge the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations as traditional owners of the land upon which Western Front stands.
