Residency

Description:

Peggy Gale’s 1989 curatorial residency was conducted in two parts (March 6 to 15, and April 20 to 29), and took the form of a mentorship under Karen Henry, Annette Hurtig, and Elspeth Sage to develop an exhibition of Western Front videotapes under the working title “Limits of Performance.” While in residence, Gale reviewed over 500 tapes produced at Western Front since 1973, with a focus on performance-related special productions to consider methods of documenting and screening performance.
