Description:

Western Front presented a double bill of American trumpeter and composer C.J. Sheppard and Vancouver-based improviser Kenneth Newby for an evening of interactive, electroacoustic performance on wind instruments and computer-controlled synthesizers. 

To open the evening, Newby performed on a Yamaha DX7 synthesizer, reeds, and flutes. Following an intermission, Sheppard performed on a Steinman Electronic Valve Instrument interfaced with a Buchla 400 computer controlled synthesizer.
