Description:

Luminous Sites was a large-scale exhibition of Canadian video installations focusing on social forms of representation. Curated by Daina Augaitis of Western Front and Karen Henry of Video Inn, the program featured site-specific works by ten artists installed in galleries and public sites throughout the city.

Installations took place at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Presentation House Gallery, the Contemporary Art Gallery, Or Gallery, Coburg Gallery, Western Front, the Community Arts Council, and in public spaces such as the Sears/Harbour Centre parkade and Park Place in downtown Vancouver.

Participating artists included Kate Craig, Ian Carr-Harris, Max Dean, Randy Gledhill and Berenicci Hershorn, Vera Frenkel, Tomiyo Sasaki, Barbara Steinman, David Tomas, Paul Wong, and Cornelia Wyngaarden.

An accompanying performance series, titled Luminous Performance, was curated by Glenn Lewis.
