Description:
A screening of Alex Mackenzie's 16 mm black-and-white film Apparitions (2016). Inspired by early stereo imaging, Apparitions dismantles cinematic codes while foregrounding projector and light as sculpture. The fifty-five minute film makes use of two projectors, coloured gels, masking, lens interference, and projector movement to explore the transitional space between image and abstraction, and nature and culture.
