Description:

A Storied Sea is an audio-literary work by writer and researcher Caleb Johnston developed as part of Intersections. Composer James Maxwell layered recordings of Johnston's grandfather telling stories from his youth as a squatter on Vancouver's waterfront with trombone lines performed by Jeremy Berkman. A time-lapse video of Jericho Beach’s shoreline was recorded on Oct 13, 2009. Additional audio was recorded on Jul 9, 2010 to complete the work.

Intersections was an artistic inquiry into social and economic convergences, geographic landmarks, and reminiscences about current and historical thoroughfares.

Video documentation is available upon request.
