Clamour: GPS was a weekly series presented on Thursday evenings throughout Oct 2009 that featured music, cocktails, and DJs.
The fifth and final event of the series showcased the commissioned works from the Intersections project, and two other musical-literary collaborations between Dennis E. Bolen and Soressa Gardner, and Jeremy Todd and Graham Meisner.
Elements from the site-specific works developed in Intersections were restaged and performed: 2055 Clark Drive by Sarah Buchanan, Brady Marks, and prOphecy sun, and A Storied Sea by Caleb Johnston, James Maxwell, and Jeremy Berkman.
An excerpt of Dennis E. Bolen’s novel, Kaspoit! was interpreted by electronic music composer Soressa Gardner. It explored new approaches to language and music while incorporating speculative illustration into some of the most brutal crimes in Canadian history.
A new collaborative work of Jeremy Todd’s ongoing series, Not Sent Letters, was performed with music by Graham Meisner. The interrelatedness of art, society, and everyday life was critically explored amongst a diverse plurality of artists and publics.
